Handgards Wood Skewers

Handgards Wood Skewers are an ideal way to lend an upscale presentation to your menu.  With two size offerings, 4.5” and 10”, our Skewers can be used for not only center of the plate items, but also lighter portions as well as appetizers – possibilities are endless! 

Preparation Suggestions:

  • Soak wooden skewers for a minimum of 30 minutes before cooking
  • Completely submerge skewers in water
  • For an infused flavor, try adding beer, wine or juice during the soaking process
  • Ideally soaking longer than 4 – 6 hours is not required
  • If soaking for longer periods of time, be sure to check on the skewers to ensure they are not too soft resulting in a possible break with harder cuts of meats
  • Bulk soaking of skewers is a great time saver – soak and then freeze skewers for quick prep

Recommended Steps: 

  • While soaking skewers, it is recommended that you cover the pan in order to prevent contamination
  • Label the pan with the contents and time the skewers were placed to soak
  • Follow typical food safety FIFO (First In First Out) rules – first batch of skewers soaked should be used first
